Zara heels, vintage skirt, Zara blouse, Vintage jewelry
On the 19th, last month, my friends and I celebrated Gabrielle "Coco" Bonheur Chanel.
She was born on the same day I was so I marvelously lie to myself that we are alike.
I'm not gonna say how old she would have been cause we all know Chanel was a little enigmatic regarding her age.
Anyways, we all gathered at L'8 by Stephan Pelger in that sunny, end of August afternoon to celebrate Coco Chanel - the woman who freed all of us from the uncomfortable outfits (I'm not gonna say corsets and all cause I love hats, and gloves, and sun umbrellas and corsets).
We all feel her presence today because above all, the fashion, the statement jewelry (which she invented btw) and her perfumes, Chanel was a true fighter and the most know example of powerful woman. She succeeded in an era when women were still considered as a beautiful creature and nothing more. She changed a whole society and for that, for what she did for us, the women of the eras that came after her existence, we will always remember her and forever celebrate her birthday.
Once again, "Happy Birthday Gabrielle Chanel". May you will be remembered for eternity!
My Snobbish Advice for you today is:
Drink a glass of champagne for someone you truly admire and it's not among us anymore. Drink for Rene Magritte, Luisa Casati, Theodor Aman, Friedrich Nietzsche, Alberto Giacometti, Max Blecher, Balthus, Jim Morrison, José Saramago, Edgar Allan Poe, Ada Lovelace, Pablo Neruda, Dorothea von Lieven, Anna de Noailles and whomever you truly admire and respect.
Let's celebrate the real values of this world. They lived in an era without smart phones or internet and are until this day the true popular and valuable human beings who have ever lived on this planet.
Don't forget them and maybe sometimes when we access Google, let's not go directly to Facebook but take a moment and read about the amazing inheritance these people left for us.
Note: Thank you Cami for fixing my hair, Ioana for baring with us, Marian for supporting us and being so nice and most of all - Thank you Alex for the amazing pictures.
Diana thank you for bringing your Chanel bags too and for this whole idea.
Don't forget about the I AM CIUDAT collar that can be yours.

I know that we as bloggers can be selective about what we choose to share on blogs, and it's not a complete picture of our lives. But I have to say, your life seems pretty darn fabulous and glamorous! Still one of my daily checks, and all time favourites!

Mi-au trebuit 26 de ani ca sa aflu ca sunt născută in aceeași zi cu creatoarea mea preferata si cu bloggerita mea preferata. Acum se explica multe :)
