THIS IS YOUR NEW RELIGION
April 26, 2012

We all want this. Luxurious living, champagne in the morning, caviar at noon and truffles at dinner. A driver, Paris nights and New York mornings, Brauner on our walls, a limitless credit card and a life without cares.
And according to the Law of Attraction (the new hipster trend) you can have it all. This law has one notable principle, it says that you attract what you radiate.

I rest my case!

I'm in love with this Kristina Dragomir head accessory, as you may all have noticed by now. It was love at first sight.

Thank you Carol Park Hotel for inviting us to spend the day in one of their amazing suites!
Now, I can go on and add that you really attract what you radiate! But this will only give you the chance to call me an arrogant bitch...again! (yes, I know you did it before, it's ok, breathe)

MINORITY REPORT
April 24, 2012

Louboutin Pigalle heels, Zara pants, Acne shirt, H&M bracelet, vintage earrings

I'm working like hell these days people, with all the reality that comes with these kind of periods, bad hair days being included.

I so need a Byredo Loveless candle and a few bottles of champagne. Instead, I have lots of clothes to carry around and to shop, emails, inspiration boards, emails (again), meetings and the phone, every time it rings is the equivalent of a panic attack, bleah. Xaiter, a Xanax please!

I know you are wondering so the answers is yes, I have a tattoo on my hip. Also, people, be amazed! This day is historical, it's one of those rare moments when I wear pants.

Lightaholic is back on the streets, make sure you're dressed like You!

On the other hand, number 8 this is your glittery day, you won!
Yey!
Now, if you are number 8 send me a notification email so that I can get my shit together and send you the beautiful summerish Atelier Danessa skirt.

THE HAT ARTIST
April 19, 2012

There are two prejudices regarding hats in our society, first is that hats are an accessory that should be only worn to the special or festive events only, the second is related to age. I'm sure you have heard many times that you can wear hats only if you have a certain age.

Well, in the mean time our society evolved and so should we. Stepping out of these patterns being an essential condition. Why can't I wear hats in a Tuesday afternoon when I'm going just to that bistro right across my building to have lunch with my friend? Or when I go to the grocery market? I should be afraid that if I'm only 27 years old and not 40 and people will raise their eyebrow? That sort of thinking should defraud me of wearing hats? Aaaa, no!

Since my love for hats is already transparent on the blog, being invited to have a tea with Kristina Dragomir at her showroom was a real honor.

Have you experienced that rare moments in life when you enter a place and meet a certain type of person that leaves you breathless? Well, Kristina Dragomir and her showroom made that kind of impression on me. You know I never take words for granted, so if they are "inspiring", "amazing" or "breathtaking" there is always true meaning behind them.

Just look down!

Well, since I don't have a husband who died so that I can look like the Black Widow, I'm gonna wear this hat on a daily basis. I absolutely adore it, of course it not have to be worn that crossed on the face, I did it only because it makes me look more dramatic (yes, yes, I love drama!)

Kristina is an artist, again, you may think that I take advantage of the word. No, she is a real artist, with a degree from Arts School and all. Her journey until finding her true vocation was full of adventures, of searches and of constant hard working.

The complex manufacture procedure of her hats, the fact that she searches the globe for the materials she use and her constant adaptation to the society evolution by inventing different ways to wear the same hat, makes her creations amazing and unique. But the most important thing I learned from Kristina is that thinking out of the box and never giving up along with working your brains of eventually will do the job. Oh, and that real passion is the fuel without she could not have succeeded. She has teary eyes when she speaks about her hats, about how complex is everything in their manufacture and that is true dedication!

Kristina Dragomir is also the official hat supplier for the Romanian Royal Family.

Why to love hats:
  • because they give you that mysterious vibe every woman should have
  • because they give you confidence and will make you feel special
  • because we are women and we should love looking feminine (feminine doesn't mean weak!)

She has a private reveal this evening at her showroom.
Her new collection is called The Flourist and with it Kristina is trying to teach us that hats should be a natural extension of a woman personality not a simple accessory.

The Florist, noua colectie de palarii a Kristinei Dragomir, este o
poveste frumoasa de primavara-vara spusa in 15 scene. O metafora in
alb-negru a unui sezon altminteri plin de culoare.

Asa cum The Artist a reusit sa transmita atata emotie intr-un limbaj
cinematografic primar, fara vorbe si culoare, The Florist este
echivalentul acestui discurs artistic, pe cat de complex, pe atat de
conceptualizat, exprimat printr-o lucratura maiastra a atelierului
Kristinei.

Colectia e de fapt o gradina cu flori concepute din matase naturala.
"O florarie" de fantezii si vise.

Antiteza dintre simplitatea numelui colectiei si spectaculozitatea
executiilor reflecta intocmai cromatica alb-negru pusa fata in fata cu
limbajul creativ sofisticat.

Abordarea colectiei The Florist se incadreaza in acelasi concept de
design practicat de Kristina Dragomir, Heads not hats, care transforma
palaria intr-o extensie fireasca a personalitatii femeii, depasind
conditia de accesoriu. Totul este "construit" in jurul femeii si
pentru femeia careia ii este destinata palaria, armonizand cu spiritul
si fizicul acesteia intr-un rezultat finit unic.

CABINET DE CURIOSITÉS
April 16, 2012

Hello to all of you  people who are at work today, please receive my immense sympathy and hello to all of us you who are not doing that activity.

I took a whole week of so only slumber suit pics until I return to the city.

Now, I can successfully bore you with some non-sensing but something tells me that you have some more important stuff to do.

No, we're not gonna talk about Easter and the bunny and religion. I'm not against it, don't assemble the spike in the town square yet. Ok, the truth is that my mind is completely blank, there's nothing in it right now except Moon Dreams from Miles Davis.

Say "hi" to Marian (the cat), again.

Don't forget about the beautiful Atelier Danessa skirt you can win, if you follow the steps.

I'm going to Kristina Dragomir's showroom on Thursday. I'm a big fan of her creations and you know that I have a special relationship with hats, so I can't wait to see what she created this time.

INSIDE THE MOLECULE
April 13, 2012

Cerina, Mirela's right hand is the outstanding professional.

M12 blouse and Kristina Dragomir hat

Ludique Body  - mrrrr

M 12 dress - I need it!

Ciprian Vrabie decorative pillows

I feel in love with his scarves

A few days ago, along with Mauvert, I visited the Molecule F headquarters.

For those of you who live under a rock don't know what Molecule F is :

Molecule F is an online store which sells exclusive Romanian designers. The online shop was founded by Mirela Bucovicean, who proved to be a true visionary on this field. The shop had a rapid growth and became the IT address to click on when you want to shop a unique and high quality fashion product.

First of all, their showroom and offices are situated in an Art Nouveau building (a sort of "you had me at hello" in my language). Second, Mirela has a friendly and open attitude towards anyone who steps in her office. She heroically put up with my questions, bared my cluttered way of speaking (yes people, yes, I talk extremely unorganized) and assured me that I'm welcomed there any time.

At their showroom I had the pleasure to meet Ciprian Vrabie, a well known accessory designer. His designs are exactly the way he is, well mannered, common sensed and extremely creative!

Conclusion:

Molecule F  is not for everybody. To understand the whole concept and appreciate the kind of designers they sell, you have to reach a certain level of  fashion information, be confident in who you are and have an unique personal style.
If you are all that, then click, click, click

Good to know:

Molecule F's showroom is situated in Dumbrava Rosie str, nr. 12

THE ROYAL DIET
April 11, 2012

Remember when I visited Venera Arapu’s showroom last week no? If you don’t you must have some serious memory problems (or you have better things to do with your life than read “the virtual chronicles of Ana Morodan").

Anyways, Ioana and I had the honor to be invited to try on the items we love from Venera Arapu’s new collection.

You know I’m not that much of a print lover. Never was, never will be, but every now and then I find that special printed item that gets to me. That's what happened with these amazing Venera Arapu dresses!

You know, there's a thing we all love, no matter if you are a hipsterish person or an underground character, we all love stories. And I for one, I tremendously admire the storytellers. That's why I love Venera, because whether we talk about her public appearances, decoration projects, her designs or her day by day life, we come to the conclusion that Venera is a storyteller.
I bet you think that I started talking pointless again, don't you? Ntz, ntz, ntz, to think that low of me...not nice people, not nice!

Now, the story behind this collection is the coolness of cool. Each item has a printed version of some of Venera's outfits on it, this being in my opinion, the real and most personal interpretation of the "I wear a designer on me" saying.

For me, the little admirer of her outfits, these dresses are the Mecca of Venera Arapu's world. I want to sleep/work/eat/go to the gym (if I'll ever decide to start doing that)/go out/shop/plant trees in them. Did I make myself clear? I want to spend the next 6 months in those dresses! And after that, to wear them again and again, till the end of days.

I rest my case.

Good to know:
  • the pictures were taken at Market 8, a restaurant decorated and owned by Venera Arapu
  • the idea of the post title came from one of Venera's designs which had "Royal Breakfast" printed on it.
  • we could not have done this without the help of the amazing Maria, Venera's Pr, who heroically had the nerves to put up with us almost a whole day.
  • these items are part of a preview of Venera Arapu a/w collection and can already be found at her store (Banu Antonache str., nr. 59)

Yep, I did some research last night. No, not about the political situation in Bolivia nor about the collapse of the world's economy, my research was related to clothes of course (kids, on this blog we don't take ourselves too seriously all the time).

Now, I did some wardrobe arrangements and scrolled down to my latest outfits and realized that I'm definitely in a black or neutral colors period.

That's it!
No, I don't have some "wise" sayings, real life stories or news to tell you.

Oh, wait, you can read an article about my home on casa mea.ro
Also, check deco si eco to read about The Socially Connected Stool - my project with Our Design.

Don't forget about the beautiful skirt from Atelier Danessa that you can win!
Read the steps.

Goodbye kittens.

1 and 2

It's fucking 7 am! 7 am! I'm gonna be sick. I think I'm never gonna educate myself to wake up this early. But I'm a grown up now, going to work is mandatory. At least I love my job. But 7 am?!?! Com'onnn, ok, fuck it, I'm gonna wake up. That's it.

I'm getting in the car in my pijammas (no, I'm not getting dressed at 7 am!) and head for the parking lot exit when Radu, the gatekeeper, comes with a box in this hands.

"Mrs. Morodan this came this morning for you, you didn't answer the door and your friend left it here."

 My friend...?

"Which one Radu?"

" The one who always visits you late at night, what's his name, Robyn? I didn't saw him around here in a long time though..."

Fuck**g shit.

"Oh, ok, thank you Radu!"

Took the box and headed to the atelier bursting with anger. "That mother fucker!"
I reach for my phone and dial his number, I still know it by heart. Why, why, why I'm the most stupid sixteen year, romantic like, girl?

"It's the wicked witch of the west. I've missed you smitten kitten!"

The fucking butterflies appeared in my stomach out of nowhere.

"What do you want Robyn?"

"To see you."

I hung down.
The phone rings again.

"Ok, ok, relax, I want you to dress me for a party."

"My clients are exclusively women, idiot!"

"Ok, then I want you to be my date for this party."

"Robyn, you're insulting my intelligence." Hung down again.

There's a certain traffic light that I hate, it lasts for ever but somehow, like in Murphy's world, every time I end up in front of it. Well, this time I take advantage of it and look in the box the idiot left for me.

The most beautiful vintage Givenchy dress I ever saw.

I always had a weakness for boys who love beautiful things. The type of  boys who pay the bill at the bar not in front of you, that know who Brauner is and even if they are 33 years old still have brunch with their dressed from head to toe in Chanel, grandmother.

Damn you nineteen century novels read at an to early age!

I grab the phone and I call again.

"Ok, idiot, I like you cause you know my weaknesses. This one time. No drinks, no talks about what happened, no sex. I'm going, at what party do you have to go to? Your grandmother is making you go at a soiree in her behalf again?"

"Sort of, we're going at a tea party."

"Fine, you can pick me up at nine. And I'm not wearing the dress you gave me, it's to beautiful to be worn beside a little rat like you."

Finally, after a hellish traffic, I get to my office, start arranging some clothes on a rack and make myself a tea. I wonder how in the world I always succeed in complicating my life so much. Well, after three minutes of logical thinking it all came down to my weakness towards clothes. Yep, clothes are my curse. Well, at least I've succeeded in turning them into a job. Being a lawyer sucked, bleah.

My first to do for this day in my agenda says like this "Buy me all the now IT items that can turn into classics !"  It would have been magical if I knew for who... Oh, I remembered, for Carla. I love Carla, she was my first client. After our shopping trip and several hours spent closet cleaning and putting together outfits, she was so happy that she recommended me to all her friends.
I'm about to go through the new collection from Stella McCartney when the door opens and my eccentric aunt makes her appearance smiling and being cynical like always.

"What's with all these rags darling? Your mum can marry you  very well and you can have a care free life and you are wasting time taking pictures of yourself and buying clothes for other people. I didn't knew that you can call this a profession nowadays."

"Dora, stop it, find me a Count and I'll marry him, till then leave me alone, I love my life. And these are not rags Dora, these are Valentino!"

"Darling, I'm here because lately I've heard some gossips around town the other days, your former friends are telling everywhere that you are a mean person."

First, I hate when Dora calls me "darling" with that fake English accent, second, these rumors are starting o tire me, I wish they came up with something new.

"Dora, it's true, I am a mean person in some people's eyes, this is a reality of life, some people like you, some don't, stop worrying."

"I know darling, I know, but you should do something about it."

"Yes Dora, I'm gonna do something about it, I'm gonna ignore them, after all, I always loved the negative characters from the stories better than the "innocent and kind" princesses, remember?"

" Celia is back in town!"

"I know, she sent me and Eva an invitation to a tea party."

" Carmen and his nephew will be there."

So that's the party where Robyn wants to take me...

Ok, I'm sick of all these mysterious events she surrounded her comeback in. If she wants to play it this way, I can certainly keep track with it, after all, they don't call me "evil queen" for nothing. I'm facebooking Eva to tell her what we should do.

"Ana, I can't believe it, I'm head over heels with him, we're going to the party tonight."

"Who? Your new lover? Oh Eva, I'm sorry for not having the time this week to talk to you. So tell me now, who is he? Do I know him? Are you madly in love, like you always are in the first week?"

"Ana don't be cynical, he got me an amazing Givenchy dress! It's Robyn, your friend you use to always took with you to our parties last year, remember? By the way, I can't remember what happened, why did you stop being friends with him?"

I'm gonna kill that stupid worm!

"Eva, we really have to meet for lunch today."

A war is starting and it seems Celia has Robyn on her side...

Who is Celia and why she came back to town, why she hates Eva and me and what;s she up to, you will find out in the next "A series of really strange events" post.
